Hundreds of youth at Manso Tontokrom in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region have been rounded up in a dawn swoop by some soldiers, according a viral news first published Mynewsgh.com.

The motive behind the raid is not clear but it’s widely believed the frightening incident has to do with a tussle of land which was allocated by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, to one Mr Ben, a Chairman of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP) in China for mining purposes.

The soldiers, reportedly arrived at the town around 12 AM Saturday down, packed in over 18 trucks. According to the eyewitness, the soldiers have surrounded the town and mounted barriers at its exit and entry points to prevent the flow of traffic in and out of the town.

The arrested youth, he said have been assembled on a football pitch.
