We have chanced upon a report that reveals that some of the athletes that Ghana took to the 2022 Commonwealth Games are nowhere to be found.

This was made known in a recent by the Birmingham Mail and it was revealed in the report that a total of 17 athletes and delegates have been reported missing since the start of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The report also indicated that the number of missing persons was made up of 13 competitors and four others who were part of the individual teams.

Out of the 17, nine of them have been found while eight are yet to be found. Out of the 8 who are yet to be found, two are said to be Pakistani boxers aged 22 and 25. 5 others are from the Sri Lankan squad and one is a delegate from Ghana.

A police spokesperson said;

“We’ve received a total of 17 missing people reports from visiting Commonwealth Games delegations – 13 competitors and four other delegation members. Of those, nine have since been found and eight remain outstanding.

We’re making enquiries alongside immigration officials to ensure they are safe and well.”
