The Idea of You Plot
Owner of an art gallery Solène, who is divorced, meets August Moon’s member Hayes during Coachella with her daughter. Even though they are not the same age, they are drawn to one another. They begin dating in secret, but when pictures of them together appear in paparazzi’s hands, friends and strangers criticize Solène. She makes an effort to shield her daughter from the spotlight.
Eventually, feeling duped by Hayes’s past with older women, Solène calls it quits on the romance. Hayes suggests that they give it another go in five years. He leaves his watch behind as a sign of hope as they separate ways.
After five years, Solène spots Hayes on TV, with hints of a possible trip to Los Angeles. They sadly reunite when he returns to her gallery, hinting at a second chance at love.
