Throughout her married life, she was known to be a mother and she was a mother of five. The names of his children are Saah Kufuor, Owusu Afriyie Kufuor, J. Addo Kufuor, Nana Ama Gyamfi, and Agyekum Kufuor.

Her educational journey commenced at the Catholic Convent, OLA, situated in Keta, Volta Region, Ghana. Subsequently, she pursued her studies in London, earning the title of Registered General Nurse within the Southern Hospital Group of Nursing in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her quest for knowledge led her to the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford and Paddington General Hospital in London, culminating in her qualification as a State Certified Midwife with a Certificate in Premature Nursing.

Devoted to her faith, Theresa Kufuor remained a steadfast Roman Catholic throughout her life. Despite her significant role as the First Lady of Ghana from 2001 to 2009, she maintained a discreet profile in the political sphere. Notably, in 2007, she advocated for policy changes in the Government’s white paper on Educational Reforms, particularly emphasizing the implementation of UNESCO’s Free compulsory universal basic education (FCUBE) program for kindergarten children.

Her commitment to societal welfare extended to the establishment of the Mother and Child Community Development Foundation (MCCDF), a non-governmental organization operating in both Ghana and Canada.
