The father of renowned Ghanaian footballer, Thomas Partey, Jacob Partey has revealed what his son told him before the match between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Super Eagles of Nigeria that was played in Abuja.

It could be recalled that it was Thomas Partey’s goal that helped Ghana to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as the match ended in a 1-1 game with Ghana qualifying on the away goal rule.

Reacting to this, Jacob Partey in a recent interview on Angel TV stated that his son knew he was going to score and he told him he will score and make Ghanaians, especially his family proud.

In his submission, he said;

“I called my son when I heard on the news that the lights at the stadium in Abuja were off, he assured me that everything will be fine.

I then prayed for him, that God should be with him. He respond to me that he was going to score and make us proud.”

The Black Stars will be looking forward to seeing the group they will end up in as the draw for the World Cup will be held on April 1.

The team qualified together with four other African countries including Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco and Cameroon.
