Per what we gathered, the three gentlemen believed to be in their 20’s died on the spot after a private car with registration number GN 2044- 17 ran over them.

According to a witness, Gabriel Ahakye, the car was heading from Kasoa to Ashalaja when it collided with the victims who were crossing the road the other way.

After the incident in the early hours of Monday, the fast driver attempted to escape the area but was confronted by enraged locals.

Residents came to the streets to demand the building of speed ramps, citing the frequent accidents on the stretch.

They’ve given the Ga South Municipal Assembly and the Ghana Highways Authority a week to build speed ramps in order to save lives. They vowed to mount roadblocks on the Kasoa-Amasaman main road should authorities ignore their plea.

From January to June, more than 29 individuals died in similar situations, according to the area’s Gyaasehene, Nii Amafio. He further revealed that all attempts to enlist the Assembly’s assistance, he claims, have failed.

Nii Amafio further urged the Ministry of Roads and Highways to intervene as soon as possible to help the young before they take the law into their own hands.
