Toni Collette children-Australian actress, producer, singer, and songwriter, Toni Collette was born on November 1st, 1972 in Blacktown, Australia.

She was born to Bob Collette and Judy Collette. With two younger brothers, Collette is the oldest of three kids. She was raised in Blacktown after six years in the Sydney suburb of Glebe.

Later, Collette discovered on a Who Do You Think You Are? that during and after World War II, Bob’s mother Norma may have had an adulterous relationship with a US Navy chief petty officer stationed in Australia, possibly leading to the birth of Bob.

Collette has remarked that although her family was not the most communicative, despite her parents’ poverty, they were supportive and made their kids feel loved.

She has happy recollections of watching Bill Collins’ Saturday matinee movies with her mother in Blacktown, where she was raised.

She characterized her younger self as being insanely confident. She convinced her doctors that she had appendicitis when she was 11 years old, and after being rushed to the emergency room, the appendix was removed.

Her favorite pursuits while attending Blacktown Girls High School included swimming, tap dance, and netball. She also participated in regional singing competitions. She aspired to perform in musicals since she enjoyed singing and dancing.

At the age of 14, Collette got her first acting job in a high school production of Godspell after singing Whitney Houston’s “Saving All My Love for You” for her audition. The next year, she made the decision to pursue acting after being inspired by Geoffrey Rush’s onstage performance in The Diary of a Madman (July–August 1989).

Collette has won numerous awards over her career, including a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award, and has also gotten nominations for an Academy Award, a Tony Award, and two British Academy Film Awards. She is well known for her work in indie cinema and television.

In addition, she has received five AACTA Awards out of a possible eight. Her breakthrough role came in the comedy-drama Muriel’s Wedding (1994), which earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination and the AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

She made her acting debut in Spotswood (1992), for which she was nominated for the AACTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. For her part in the 1999 psychological thriller The Sixth Sense, Collette 

received more notice on a global scale and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

For her roles in the comedy-drama Little Miss Sunshine and the romantic comedy About a Boy (2002), she was nominated for a BAFTA Award (2006).

The period comedy Emma (1996), the action thriller Shaft (2000), the time-travel drama The Hours (2002), the romantic drama Japanese Story (2003), the comedies In Her Shoes (2005) and The Way, Way Back (2013), the horror movies Krampus (2015) and Hereditary (2018), and the mystery movie Knives Out are just a few of Collette’s films that span a variety of genres (2019).

She has performed on Broadway, and in The Wild Party (2000), the main part, she received a Tony Award nomination. She appeared on television in the drama-comedy series United States of Tara on Showtime (2008–2011) and the drama miniseries Unbelievable on Netflix (2019).

She received both the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, Television Series Musical or Comedy for the former.

She wrote each of the 11 songs on Toni Collette & the Finish’s lone album, Beautiful Awkward Pictures, which she sang lead on (2006). After touring Australia in 2007, the group stopped playing live shows and stopped releasing new music. In 2017, Collette and Jen Turner formed the motion picture production firm Vocab Films.

Collette and her immediate ex-husband, Dave Galafassi shares two children. The names of their kids are, Sage Florence Galafassi and Arlo Robert Galafassi.

Sage Florence Galafassi was born in 2008 and she is currently 14 years of age. Her brother, Arlo Robert Galafassi was born in 2011 and he is currently 11 years of age.
