Two motor riders have reportedly met their untimely death after they crashed to death in a gory accident at  Gefia on the Gefia – Tadzewu road in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region.

A witness, Mensah Besa Allaga, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that one of the fatalities, William Agbolosu, a lotto agent in his 30s, was allegedly returning from work when the tragedy occurred at around 07:30 PM on Thursday.

He stated that the deceased was riding a Haojue motorcycle with the registration number VR 4694-19 and wearing a helmet when he collided with a Sanya motorcycle with no registration number.

According to Mr. Allaga, the Sanya motor rider and his pillion rider were with no headlights on their motorcycle, which resulted in a catastrophic head-on accident.

“I was riding to Gefia when the incident happened just in front of me, they were on top speed,” he said.

He further stated that the Haojue rider together with the Sanya rider (name not known) died on the spot while a male pillion rider also sustained some injuries.

He said that the injured were rushed to the Gefia health center while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the St. Paul’s Hospital morgue for preservation.

The identity of the other young man who died was not made known at the time of the accident.
