Cheddira signed a three-year contract with Serie A club Parma on July 10, 2019, and on July 22 was loaned to Arezzo in Serie C. On August 25, he started his first game in Serie C as a professional against Lecco.
Cheddira was loaned out by Parma to Lecco on January 31, 2020, and Mantova on September 4.
Cheddira signed a loan agreement with Bari on July 18, 2021, and on June 30, 2022, the loan became permanent with a June 2025 contract.

Cheddira was nominated to Morocco’s 26-man roster for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on November 10, 2022. He entered the tournament for the first time in the round of 16 matchup between Morocco and Spain, a penalty shootout triumph for Morocco following a 0-0 stalemate after extra time.

In the quarter-finals against Portugal, Cheddira came on in the 65th minute, only to be sent off after earning two yellow cards in stoppage time. Morocco triumphed with a score of 1-0.
