Rufftown signee, Wendy Shay has revealed the origin of her stage name during an interaction with ace broadcaster, Abeiku Santana.
Shay’s real name is Abena Ofusuhemaa Asiamah Addo and appearing on the Atuu program hosted by Abeiku, the young entertainer detailed everything about her personal life, including the origin of her name.
Wendy Shay revealed that she lost her dad at the age of 2 years and her mom moved to Germany after the death of her death and then she then joined her mom with her sister later on there.
She started Grade 7 (JHS1) in Germany and had the rest of her education there and is a trained nurse.
She said whilst in Germany, she used to watch a serial program TV called ‘iCarly’, which has the main character called Shay.
Wendy revealed that she fell in love with the character so much that she had no option than to “steal” the name, reason she is now known asWendy Shay.
According to Wendy Shay, although her full name is Wendy Abena Ofosuhemma Addo, she uses Wendy Addo on her passport but almost everyone in Stuttgart, Germany knows her as Wendy Shay as she’s been using the name for a very long time.
Wendy Shay was born on 20th February 1996 and is 22 years old. She was introduced as a new artiste under Rufftown Records this year and has 2 singles, titled ‘Uber Driver’ and ‘Bedroom Commando’
