Finally, there was a 25-minute blackout during the operation, which cut off the live feed from helmet-mounted cameras worn by US special forces personnel.
Two days after his purported death, the Obama administration declared that no photographs of bin Laden’s body would ever be disclosed to the public. Subsequent attempts by other organizations to examine evidence of Osama’s death under the Freedom of Information Act have all been denied. In 2012, a US federal judge determined that the Department of Defense did not have to divulge any of this data to the public at all.
Senior Pakistani officials have always claimed that no raid ever occurred. Some of these officials have claimed that bin Laden died before the 2011 operation and that the US administration was aware of Osama’s prior death all along. In 2002, top FBI officer Dale Watson declared, “I personally think Osama bin Laden is probably not with us anymore.”
Meanwhile, Osama bin Laden was born on March 10, 1957, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Hamid al-Attas, Osama bin Laden’s mother, was Mohammed’s 11th wife out of 23 total. Osama’s parents split shortly after his birth. Mohammed has 52 offspring with multiple spouses.
Osama was raised as a devoted Sunni Muslim and attended King Abdulaziz University to study economics and business administration. There are different accounts about which degrees he got, however some sources say he studied civil engineering or public administration. Osama then studied English at Oxford in the early 1970s. While living in England, he became a fan of Arsenal FC.
