Ghanaian sports journalist, Saddick Adams has shared his thoughts on illegal mining in the country.

The award-winning personality shared his thoughts on his verified social media handle on the popular social media platform, Twitter.

In the post, he suggested that the government sees illegal mining as something that is legal adding that how the government sees it as legal depends on the person who is doing it.

The post indicates that there are some top government officials who are involved illegal mining, however, the government does not go after them because they belong to their political party.

The post that he made reads;

“What we call illegal mining in Ghana is actually legal in the books of the government. It depends on who is doing it. The big men, the Chinese and most of the people destroying lands and water bodies have been given LICENSES.”

Some reactions the post got are;

@Obaatanba_kp – When it’s the big men and chinese, it’s called community mining but when it is kofi Atebang, it’s called galamsey.

@impatial16 – President @NAkufoAddo has failed in the fight against Galamsey and it’s going to affect the next and future generations drastically. Also the ministry of Lands and natural resources, Asantehene, Okyehene,Apintomanhene must all bow down their heads in shame. @Joy997FM @Citi973

@Nectarrule – The support that this Government has had with the fight against Galamsey and has managed to Fail…. I think it’s only coup d’etat that’ll Solve the problems associated with it.
