Curtis James Jackson III (born July 6, 1975), better known as 50 Cent, is an American rapper, actor, television producer, and businessman. Jackson, who was born in Queens’ South Jamaica neighborhood, began his musical career in 1996.

As the founder of the G-Unity Foundation and the G-Unity Business Lab, which provide underprivileged youth in the Houston area with access to computer labs and training, 50 Cent made a $300,000 donation, which was matched by the Houston Independent School District (HISD) for a total of $600,000.
