We have chanced upon a piece of interesting news about the World Cup play-off between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

It could be recalled that the National Sports Authority shared photos of the works on the Cape Coast Stadium where the match will be played.

The nature of the pitch is currently not the best, however, the National Sports Authority has indicated that the pitch will be ready for the match.

Interestingly, Nigeria sent the photo to FIFA and as it stands, an inspection of the pitch is set to be conducted and if it is established that the pitch is not good, the match will be played in either Morocco or Benin.

This is was made known in a recent post by the renowned Ghanaian sports journalist, Saddick Adams.

The post reads;

“NEWS FLASH: FIFA has warned that Ghana may have to choose btn Morocco & Benin to host Nigeria in the first leg of the #WCQ2022.
I’m told Nigeria filed a petition at FIFA with pictures of the poor Cape Coast pitch posted by official handle of the NSA.
CAF officials will conduct final inspection of Cape Coast tomorrow. Unless they’re wholly convinced with the state of the pitch, the Ghana vs Nigeria will be hosted in one of the aforementioned countries.”
