These Kumawood actors perhaps realized too late that the movie and music industries are two different entities altogether despite sharing the same umbilical cord.

They could not match their huge success in the music industry after their surprise transition to that arena as no one is paying attention to them.

We must confess however that most of them came up with good content that resonated with Ghanaians but their best is still not enough get.

1. Papa Kumasi

Papa Kumasi, who is a recognizable face in Kumawood released a song dubbed ‘Sweet Girl’ featuring Yaa Jackson who also makes our list in this writeup. That song never flew and we have no idea why he thought he’ll make a name for himself as a singer.

2. Yaa Jackson

Yaa Jackson decided to use sexual imagery to weave her way through the music scene when she announced her presence. Explicit songs like Ehwe Papa, Mekon Ado, Ehye Mu, and the likes depict the direction she wanted to navigate her career but unfortunately, Ghanaians have not paid attention to her yet.

3. Kwaku Manu

Another Kumawood actor cum musician whose songs are not getting attention from Ghanaians is Kwaku Manu. His songs Wo Ye Me Taste, Wobete Kraw amongst others have not given the required prominence he had hoped for.

4. Emelia Brobbey

We all know the ‘wack’ song Emelia Brobbey produced in 2019 that made her trend for a while all over social media.

The actress’s first single, Fa Meko was officially declared the ‘wackest of the year’ on social media. Reacting to this during that time in an interview on Class FM, the singer indicated that although the trolls and insults were hurtful, they turned out to be helpful in a long run as it gave her the hype she wanted.

‘So, I might say that to me, I think it’s a blessing in disguise because it didn’t give me much work to do so far as promotion is concerned but some few insults were hurting. I’m human, I mean I can’t say that it didn’t hurt.’ she said.

5. Lil Win

Kwadwo Nkansah, aka Lil Win, is the poster boy of Kumawood. Perhaps he thought his huge success in the movie industry can be translated into the music industry but that has not been the case. Although he had some relatively hit songs like Ladder and Mama Boss Papa, Lilwin’s music career has been nothing but a disaster. The fact that his songs lack quality and depth shows he isn’t cut for music.

6. Tracey Boakye

Actress and entrepreneur, Tracey Boakye released her debut song Try Again ft Brother Sammy. The song has been a big flop and nobody even knows she’s into music.
