As usual, 2021 had some mind-blowing celebrity scandals that really made headlines throughout the year.
Some of these scandals involved the police while some also were between two or more celebrities who wanted to show their superiority.
Well, as we draw the curtains on this year, we would like to take a look at some of these scandals that occurred within the year. Check them out below;
Afia Schwarzenegger and Ayisha Modi Beef
Ghanaians were stunned when these two former friends took over social media with their rants. Without thinking about their reputations and the implications of their actions, they called themselves some unpleasant names. During the brawl, some secrets about their personal lifestyle also were released into the public domain.
Efia Odo Arrested Because of #FixTheCountry Campaign
Ghanaian socialite, Andrea Owusu who is known as Efia Odo was also arrested this year. Her arrest came after her involvement in the #FIXTHECOUNTRY campaign. The actress, together with some individuals were trying to get the attention of the government on some of the issues happening in the country, and in the course of the campaign, they were picked up by the police who thought they were trying to disturb the peace in the country. After they were arrested, they were also prevented from organizing their demonstration.
Medikal spending time in prison for brandishing a gun on social media
Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Samuel Adu Frimpong who is known as Medikal spent some time in prison for the first time this year. His arrest came after he brandished a gun on social media. He was remanded for five days by an Accra Circuit court on Friday, October 22. He was, however, granted bail to the tune of GH¢100,000 and he is expected to reappear before the court on January 25, 2022.
Rosemond Brown (Akuapem Poloo) getting jailed
Ghanaian video vixen, Rosemond Brown who is known as Akuapem Poloo was not fortunate as she had to deal with the authorities for her action. He was sentenced to spend 90 days in prison and this was after she was found guilty of publicly sharing a naked photo of herself and her 7-year-old son. She was granted bail, however, that did not last as another court ruling stated that she has to spend some time in prison. In the end, the jail term was canceled as she was asked to pay a court fine of 12,000gh cedis.
Shatta Wale’s arrest and time in prison
Award-winning Ghanaian musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah who is widely identified as Shatta Wale spent some days in prison this year. This was after he faked his kidnapping. He spent about a week in prison before he was granted bail to the tune of GH¢100,000.
Joyce Blessing cheating allegation
Gospel musician, Joyce Blessing was also involved in a scandal. Her scandal revolves around the fact that it was alleged that she has cheated on her husband. Subsequently, an alleged DNA test revealed that one of the three children she has with her husband was not the child of the husband.
Moesha Boduong’s Repentance
2021 saw the repentance of well-endowed Ghanaian socialite, Moesha Boduong. To prove that she has indeed repented from her old ways, she shared videos of herself in church speaking about her past sinful ways, and at a point, she even wanted to commit suicide. She is currently not vibrant on social media like she used to as she is now recovering from what happened to her.
