The board of governors of the Achimota Senior High school has disagreed with the ruling of the court yesterday over admitting the Rastafarian students.
Yesterday, the Accra High court ordered Achimota School to admit the rasta students who were denied admission because of their religion and locks unless they cut their locks which they also vowed never to cut.
The board of governors of the school has refused to accept the ruling of the court ordering them to accept the faith and religious beliefs of the Rastafarians and admit them hence have asked their lawyers to appeal the case.
According to a communique from the board of governors of the Achimota School, their lawyers are going to appeal the case which was ruled in the favor of the students as they don’t agree and would never want to admit them into the school.

This case of the Rastafarians being admitted into senior high schools has become a national problem as some people seem not to understand why they are denied their right to education because of their religion.
Some even go as far as to question why international students aren’t asked to cut their hair in our various secondary schools but our own people are asked to shave their hair anytime they enter the second cycle institution.
