It is not quite clear on the intentions of the Ghana Police Service but all indications prove that the administration is disappointed in Adom FM for disregarding rules governing the acquisition of security uniforms.

As part of it May Day celebrations, staff of the Accra based radio station, wore police, military and nurses uniforms to celebrate all frontline workers, helping to save the life of covid-19 patients and flatening the curve on the virus.

The Police upon seeing the presenters dressed in uniforms took to social media to reprimand them for disregarding the rules for acquiring a police uniform. According to the police service, Adom FM didn’t seek permission before wearing the uniforms and that goes against Section 28 of the Police Service Act, 1970 (ACT 350).

Quote;

“Adom 106.3 FM a whole media house decides to breach the law in the name of May Day celebration, should this be encouraged? You have breached section 28 of the Police Service Act, 1970 (ACT 350)? It is not easy to merit the Police Uniform, please obey the law at all times.” 

“Any person who has in his possession, wears or uses any article so closely resembling any part.”
