Ajax wonderboy, Abdelhak Nouri, who fell into coma during a football match in 2017 has miraculously woken up after going into coma for 2 years and 9 months.

According to media reports, 22-year-old Nouri collapsed on the pitch in July 2017 after suffering a cardiac arrhythmia attack. He sustained severe and permanent brain damage in the process and was hospitalized. Abdelhak’s brother, Abderrahim has confirmed publicly that Nouri is “doing well” and lives in a house specially built for him after waking up from coma.

Speaking with Dutch TV show De Wereld Draait Door, Abderrahim said;
“He has not been home very long, we take care of him there now. I must say that since he is at home it is going much better than before in the hospital.
“He is aware of where he is, he is back in a familiar environment with his family.
“He’s no longer in a coma. He’s very bedridden and still very dependent on us.”

The brothers communicate through signals such as frowning, smiling and raising eyebrows. He has the ability to see and react to things around him but not clear whether the player will return to football once he regains his health fully.
