Ghanaian musician Akoo Nana believes Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO), Rex Omar is not competent for his position and must be sacked.
Akoo Nana wants the veteran musician to be replaced by a woman, Cynthia Quarcoo whom he believes is fit for the job.
”GHAMRO must be shut down. Rex Omar must be sacked so they’ll bring one lady called Cynthia Quarcoo of Africa 1 fame. I think she should manage it.
”I think she[ Cynthia Quarcoo]’s got it. I respect Rex Omar and I think he’s a living legend but he has to make way. I think he doesn’t understand what he’s doing”
Rex Omar’s leadership as GHAMRO Chair has come under a barrage of attacks by musicians who have expressed dissatisfaction over the disbursement of royalties.
