Veteran actor Akwesi Boadi aka Akrobeto has indicated that Dumsor (persistent, irregular, and unpredictable electric power outage) contributed to the collapse of Kumawood industry.
He said this on Saturday when he appeared alongside some Kumawood stars such as Lil Win, Kwaku Manu, Mercy Asiedu on UTV’s United Showbiz, hosted by Nana Ama McBrown, who is also Kumawood star.

“Dumsor was a big problem for our work. It was the beginning of our woes because we weren’t able to work as we used to do.”
“People could not even watch movies they buy and we weren’t able to churn out more content for our viewers,” he said.
The once vibrant Kumawood has been nonexistent for some time with actors focusing on making money from social media platforms such as YouTube with short and funny skits.
