Organizers of the annual American Music Awards have introduced a new category for afrobeat ahead of the 2022 award ceremony.
The American Music Awards have introduced a new category ‘Favorite Afrobeats Artiste’ category and have announced the full list of nominees for the 2022 edition which will be held on 21st November 2022.
The latest development indicates how far and wide the afrobeat sound has traveled in recent times. The first set of nominees in this category is Burna Boy, Wizkid, Fireboy DML, Tems, and CKay.
