The grandmother of the former President of the US, Barack Obama, Sarah Obama has been confirmed dead.
She died at the age of 99 in western Kenya and her death was confirmed by her daughter, Marsat Onyango in an interview with the AFP on Monday.
Confirming the incident, she said;
“It is true she has gone to be with the Lord, she passed on this morn ing.”
The woman is widely known in Kenya as Mama Sarah, and per what we gathered, she had been on admission at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu.
She was for a long time known for the hot porridge and doughnuts she served at a local school in Kenya.
We also gathered that, the former president wasn’t related to her by blood, however, he always referred to her as ‘granny’.
