Barnaby Joyce had six children from his two relationships, the past and the present. He had four daughters with his first wife, Natalie Abberfield. The names of their daughters are; Julia Jiyce, Odette Joyce, Caroline Joyce, and Brigette Joyce.

Barnaby Joyce career

In the 2004 federal election, Joyce was chosen to serve in the Australian Senate, and he began his term in 2005. In 2008, he was appointed Senate leader of the National Party. He moved to the House of Representatives for the 2013 election, where he was elected to the rural New England seat in New South Wales.

In 2013, Joyce took up Nigel Scullion’s position as the National Party’s deputy leader. In 2016, he took over as the party’s leader and deputy prime minister from Warren Truss.

Joyce held the positions of Minister of Agriculture from 2013 to 2015, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources from 2015 to 2017, Minister of Resources and Northern Australia from 2017 to 2018, and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport from 2017 to 2018. Joyce’s dual citizenship with New Zealand was confirmed during the 2017–18 Australian parliamentary eligibility crisis, which is prohibited by Section 44 of the Australian Constitution.

Joyce later joined the Coalition shadow cabinet as the Shadow Minister for Veterans Affairs. Video captured during the night of February 2024 showed Joyce cursing into his phone while lying on his back on a sidewalk. Joyce clarified that he had fallen and mixed prescribed medicine with booze. The National Party was under pressure to remove Joyce from the front bench.
