The captain of the Black Stars Dede Ayew has been lambasted and blamed for the poor performance of the team. Also, investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw has been blamed over the defeat of the Black Stars due to his documentary on the Ghana Football Association.

In a lengthy post, Arnold Baidoo wrote,

OUTRAGEOUS!

“Yes, it is understandable that after such an abysmal outing by the Black Stars, agitation, angst, and disappointment would definitely cause people to grouse, wail, and bemoan but some of the commentary emanating from some folks are just outrageous, ah. What is nauseating is the fact that such talk comes from people who are supposed to know better. 1.

“Asamoah Gyan was our best striker and we pulled him down blah blah blah. Baggio was the go-to guy for Italy, the poster boy for the country in the US’ 94 World Cup. His goals took Italy to the final but he was vilified for missing that crucial penalty. David Beckham, one of the best players for England was hounded and haunted for receiving a red card in England’s loss to Argentina in the France 98 World Cup. Andres Escobar was shot 12 times in Columbia for scoring their own goal against the US, a game that saw the elimination of Columbia from the US’ 94 World Cup. What the heck are you talking about?

2. Blaming Anas for our woes and glorifying Nyantakyi. Are you mad? What did we win under Nyantakyi? So you want to normalize and justify corruption? Wait, you expected him to rise to a high position of FIFA and be entangled and exposed to Corruption? Just like Sepp Blatter? Jack Warner? or Michel Platini of UEFA? Get a grip!

3. Dede Ayew doesn’t deserve to captain the team, he has lost it, blah blah blah. Yes, he is not infallible. He has his flaws just like any player but since his youthful days, who can question this guy’s love, commitment, and dedication to the national cause. He gives his all – on the freaking pitch, always. At a time when players are demurring to feature for the Black Stars, this guy never misses a call-up even when we are playing against Afghanistan. What else?”.
