Rufftown Records signee, Wendy Asiamah Addo, widely known as Wendy Shay has opened up about her long break from the music scene and what she went through in the hands of love.

The dancehall artiste who is one of the controversial artist in Ghana has shared her experience with a broken heart and how she handled it.

Wendy Shay has said that broken hearts are inevitable and doesn’t care about the age, class, gender, or whoever you are. “Broken heart is universal. It doesn’t know if you’re an artist, star, or whatever. It can happen to a man, it can happen to a woman,” she said.

In a recent video, Wendy Shay opened up on her broken heart and how she handled it. Speaking about her new song titled ‘survivor’, the dancehall artist revealed that her broken heart experience inspired the new song.

“My new song ‘Survivor’ is a broken heart song, it’s a personal song to me,” she said. She also indicated that the piece has intentionally been tailored to empower women, especially those in abusive relationships.  

“What really gingered this song was when I heard the death of the late Nigerian Gospel singer Osinachi. So I decided to do a song to empower women, especially those who are in abusive relationships,” she added.
