Popular American rapper, Cardi B born Belcalis Almánzar has received a jail term for her participation in a fracas that occurred in a strip club  in New York in 2018.

This follows the 29-year-guilty old’s plea in a case brought against her for a fight with two women who were serving customers at the strip club in Queens, New York.

According to a representative for the Queens district attorney’s office, Cardi B pleaded guilty to assault in the third degree and reckless endangerment in the second degree.

In accordance with the court’s decision, Cardi B was given a 15-day community service, a 3-year full order of protection for the two other women or accusers and court costs.

In a report by latimes.com, Queens Dist. Atty. Melinda Katz said “no one is above the law. In pleading guilty today, Ms. Belcalis Almánzar and two co-defendants have accepted responsibility for their actions. This Office is satisfied with the resolution, which includes appropriate community service.”

Cardi B stated in a statement that she was not ashamed to admit certain decisions she made in the past are poor.

“These moments don’t define me, and they are not reflective of who I am now. Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions.”
