Afrobeat according to the majority of its patrons and pioneers was introduced by Nigerians. The music genre has taken over the whole world and now being recognized on world platforms as a mainstream music genre.

The history, however, majority claim to have emerged from Nigeria. This statement is however arguable as some Ghanaian entertainment per their background investigations claim the genre emerged from Ghan a.

Criss Wddle, a Ghanaian rapper has also expressed his sentiments about the indecisive debate, lamenting on the false narration of the genre’s history.

In a tweet, he said that Ghanaians have folded their arms while Nigerians deceive the entire world with their own narration of the Afrobeat genre without giving credits to Ghanaian musicians for their part in making the genre popular.

He added that the likes of R2Bees made up of Omar Sterling and Mugeez have also contributed enormously to the success of the genre yet they are not recognized.

He wrote; So we go sit Ghana here and watch our Nigerian brothers narrate the history of Afro beats and not even mention R2bees or Ghana
