Veteran Ghanaian Highlife singer, Ofori Amponsah has described the Legendary Highlife maestro, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, well known as Daddy Lumba as his god.

According to him, he took inspiration from the legend when he was still an upcoming musician and it was Daddy Lumba who motivated him to bring out his gift because he was meant to be a star just like him.

Speaking with the lifestyle and celebrity blogger, Ofori Amponsah stated that he recorded his first album in 1993 which he kept indoors for about six years before finally releasing it.

He stated that Daddy Lumba believed in him and told him he will one day be a big star in the music industry just like him even though he had doubts that he would ever be a star in the future and for that he is grateful to him for the person he is today.

Ofori Amponsah further stated that God intentionally sent Daddy Lumba to effect changes in his life which have taken effect on his life and music career and for that, he is eternally grateful.

Meanwhile, mega award-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, well known as Wizkid has won the African song of the year with his “Essence” song at the ongoing 3Music Awards.

“Essence” by Wizkid featuring Tems and the. Canadian singer, Justin Bieber has been awarded the Outstanding International Song at the NAACP image awards.

It would be recalled in October 2020, Wizkid recruited Justin Bieber and Tems on the remix version of his “Essence” song shortly after collaborating with the latter on the original version.

Well, the song has been awarded the African song of the year at this year’s 3Music Awards.
