Speaking in an interview with Kwadwo Sheldon, Kofi Kinaata revealed he has no expectations when attending the VGMAs because anything can happen, hence he goes there just to enjoy the music and the show in general.

However, if he ends up picking up an award during the show, he would be glad but his main mission for attending the show is to enjoy the performances and what the show has to offer.

He also mentioned that winning an award at the VGMAs doesn’t make one the best in the scene because legends like Bob Marley never received awards on huge platforms yet they are being celebrated worldwide even though they are no more.

Kofi Kinaata also said that his main reason for releasing songs has not been for award’s sake but for his fans to enjoy his music. But, winning awards becomes a bragging right for the fans since they vote for their favorite musicians to win.

As a reminder, Kofi Kinaata has won the best songwriter of the year award for four consecutive times until he lost to Fameye this year.
