Ghanaian Afrobeat and rapper Elorm Adabla popularly known as EL has urged the Ghana Education Service to restrain from reopening of schools.

This comment follows after GES suggested a plan of action that will make children go back to school when schools are reopened.

The Teachers Union and Africa Education watch in a separate Statements released have however, discouraged the reopening of schools on grounds that the confirmed cases in the country keeps rising and reopening of schools will put the lives of students and teachers at risk.

In an interview with Amansan Krakye on Radio Central, rapper EL has questioned GES why it is in a haste to reopen schools when the virus keeps spreading.

The numbers are still going up so i don’t know why they mean by things are safe.

Because per my observations and my knowledge the numbers are still rising” he said.

According to EL, no country in the world have reopened schools in this pandemic so he’s advising GES to halt reopening of the schools because there’s no need putting lives at risk. “There’s no need to for us to rush into the world and get hurt or get sick” he added.

Because if Coronavirus should escalate in Ghana just like what happened in some foreign countries, the effects will surely be devastating due to the fact that we are still a third world country”, he cautioned.
