Ghanaian actress and television presenter Emelia Brobbey has revealed the reason why some people lack interest in patronizing Ghanaian-made films.

It’s no news that the Ghanaian movie industry is struggling to stand on it’s feet. A lot of people choose other movies over Ghanaian movies. Actress Emelia has disclosed why many lack interest in patronizing Ghanaian-made movies.

Speaking in an interview on Ahosepe Xtra on Adom TV, Emelia Brobbey said that the movie industry lacks the availability of marketing and selling points in the country hence the lack of interest.

“The challenge is Ghanaians interest in buying Ghanaian movies. We don’t have the marketing shops anymore and we don’t have CD selling points so apart from cinema premiers, you can’t get the movies to other vendors across the country to sell them” she said.

This is one of the challenges because the product is not visible in the marketing to buy them and watch. She added.

The actress now turned musician also compared the Ghanaian movie industry to other counties in the African continent. According to her, she cannot boast of Ghana being in the lead but knows the industry players are trying their best.

“No one has taken the movies from us, we are still producing our movies just that how the work was increasing in demand for about three to four years ago isn’t the same as now but no one has taken the movie industry from us, and we are still working the industry” she noted.
