The deputy minister for Arts, Tourism & Culture, Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey has stated that every artwork created in the country or by a citizen in Ghana is an asset to the country.

Speaking in an interview on the Daybreak Hitz morning segment with Doreen Avio on Hitz FM, the renowned entertainment personality noted that any form of artwork remains an asset to the country.

He also noted that not only Ghanaians working in the public offices or government owned companies are working for the country but every Ghanaian including food vendors are equally working for the country.

“Every artwork is an asset to the country. The waakye seller on the street is also working for Ghana. You are not the only one working for the country“, he said.

He also lamented that several Ghanaians are mostly fond of drawing comparisons between assets in Ghana and that of advanced country and this he finds very displeasing.

“Somebody gets the chance to go to France and comes back to say the Embassy of France is better than government“, he added.
