It would be recalled that Asantewaa during an interview on the United Showbiz segment aired on UTV stated that musicians cannot thrive with their songs on social media without the intervention of TikTokers.

She averred that irrespective of how a musician has mastered his craft, he will still find himself wanting when he does not contact TikTokers for promotion or include them in their promotional plans since TikTok has become a promotional instrument.

This sparked a lot of reactions on social media with many lambasting Asantewaa for making such a boastful statement. However, a few threw their weights behind her, claiming that her assertions were accurate and their impact need not be underestimated.

In reaction to that, Lasmid stated that every medium in the music industry is involved in making songs go viral in the country and every avenue needs to be appreciated.

Meanwhile, celebrated Ghanaian Highlife crooner, Akwasi Opoku, widely known as Kwaisey Pee has explained the reason behind his decision not to collaborate with most of the new crop of musicians in Ghana.

During an interview on UTV’s “Atuu” segment with Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana, Kwaisey Pee revealed that most of the new school of musicians mostly drag their feet when they are being approached by older folks for a collaboration.

He intimated that he has managed to collaborate with a few on some of his projects but the majority of them snubbed his request for reasons better known to them.

Kwaisey Pee recounted that during his era, he never snubbed any musician who approaches him with a song and even if he dislikes some part of the song, he would contribute to making changes in the song for the betterment of the artiste.
