Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti is currently leading the vote for the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination for a possible induction.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is an organization based on the America Awards, which awards and celebrates prominent rock and rock figures.

The award has five categories: artists, non-artists, early influences, lifelong accomplishments, and companions.

Fela currently leads the vote with more than 56,000 votes, while Tina Turner follows closely with more than 52,000 votes on the official page of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for 2021.
The Nigerian music icon was nominated alongside Mary J. Blige, Kate Bush, Devo, Foo Fighters.

According to the President of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, John Skyles, this remarkable vote reflects the diversity and depth of the artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrates.
