News of the sudden demise of Madam Sarah Ogwel Onyango Obama popularly known as Mama Sarah hit the media circles this morning and was later confirmed by her daughter, Marsat Onyango.
The former president reacting to the news in a tweet stated how he and his family will celebrate with gratitude for the long and remarkable life Mama Sarah lived.
My family and I are mourning the loss of our beloved grandmother, Sarah Ogwel Onyango Obama, affectionately known to many as “Mama Sarah” but known to us as “Dani” or Granny. We will miss her dearly, but we’ll celebrate with gratitude her long and remarkable life.
