Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama of opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said he will make use of the Office of Special Prosecutor better in his nest government when elected in in the upcoming general elections.
The Former President has revealed this in an interview with Accra based Asempa Fm on Monday 19 October, 2020.
“The NDC government will maintain the office of the Special Prosecutor because it was established by an act of parliament.”
The Office of Special Prosecutor was constituted in 2017 with the aim at using the office to fight corruption in teh country, especially in political offices, and political positioni holders.
President Akufo-Addo, in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2016 campaign elections, raised countless corruption allegation s against the then incumbent NDC government. They then promised to institute the Office of the Speical Prosecutor to deal with corruption and even promised to processed all the NDC members they tagged corrupt to court.
Nana Akufo-Addo fulfilled his campaign promise by establishing the Special Prosecutor Office.

However, it has totally fail to jailed a single NDC member they alleged and tagged with corruption.
Now, the Flagbearer of NDC for this year’s election is promising that he will not collapse the office but make better use of it than how the NPP is using the office.
