In a recent report by Special Prosecutor Mr. Martin Amidu, he identified former President Mahama as the ‘Government Official 1’ in the controversial Airbus deal scandal.

However, Matin Amidu has added that, he cannot interrogate the former President because of his position as Presidential Candidate of one major political party; National Democratic Congress (NDC), purposely because of the coming December presidential elections.

Mr. Mahama has stood against the allegation s raised against him in the Airbus scandal, says he did not engaged in any corrupt deal.

To this thought, lawyer Maurice Ampaw says “Martin Amidu should tell the part of the act that says that if you are an opposition leader, you can’t be investigated or prosecuted. There is nothing in the constitution and the Special Prosecutors act to support what he is doing. Martin Amidu does not have the balls to take Mahama on.”
