Honorable Daniel Okyem Aboagye, outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama of Kumasi, Ashanti Region has finally promised to support the newly elected parliamentary aspirants for the constituency Francis Asenso Boakye to win the upcoming December parliamentary elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He made the disclosure of his decision to support Asenso Boakye who was his pressing contestant in the constituency’s primaries election in an interview with Kumasi Hello Fm. He said;
“What we are saying is simple, in an election; one will win, while the other will lose. The people of Bantama have helped me a lot, now everyone knows but a time has come when I have to help my brother Asenso to go. Therefore we need to help him. If Asenso wins, I have won, when NPP wins, I have as well won, hence all misunderstanding in the elections in unnecessary this time.”

Honorable Okyem Aboage affirms that, his decision to rescind from contesting as independent candidate and throwing his support for Asenso’s win come December 7 was influenced by NPP party leaders.
He said “For that reason, we have united ourselves and that is the most important thing”, he stressed.”
Mr. Francis Asenso Boakye who is also a Deputy Chief of Staff won the Bantama parliamentary primaries elections with 456 votes but on his third attempt to defeat incumbent Honorable Daniel Okyem Aboagye, who got 122 votes out of the total cast votes.
After accusing Mr. Francis Asenso Boakye of intimidating his supporters, Honorable MP Okyem Aboagye now agrees to let sleeping dogs lay and support his fellow party member to win Bantama Parliamentary seat for NPP on December 7.
