The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government have borrowed more than any government in the history of Ghana.
Addressing a press conference on Accra on Wedney 28th October,2020,the national communication officer of the party Sammy Gyamfi said;

“Despite promising to reduce government borrowing, President Akufo-Addo has borrowed more than any government in Ghana’s history, with very little to show. Today, our current debt position is unsustainable and the worst ever in our 4th republican history.”
Former President John Mahama has stated that Ghana’s debt position is just like when we joined HIPC in 2001.
