Ghanaian media personality and Movie Producer, Ola Michael has reacted to Shatta Wale’s plea to have Ghana promote a unique genre that can be attributed to all music works in Ghana.

Recall, during Shatta Wale’s State of the Industry, he revealed that he was found wanting during one of his meetings with investors amid his trip to the US.

According to Shatta Wale, he was asked by the foreign investors about the kind of music Ghanaians are known for. Well, Shatta Wale who couldn’t give any valid answer urged his fellow musicians in Ghana to project a unique genre that can represent Ghanaians on the international market.

In reaction to that, Ola Michael of Neat FM has schooled the dancehall musician, saying that Ghana already has a unique genre that has been well recognized internationally.

During an interview on the United Showbiz, Ola Michael that Ghana is well known for Highlife so there was no need for Shatta to raise concerns about promoting Ghanaian music worldwide.

Well, ace highlife legend, Kwabena Kwabena also revealed in an interview on Okay FM that Ghana is also well known as Highlife but some Ghanaian musicians have adapted to other genres from other countries which have rendered the Highlife genre irrelevant.

In general, Ola Michael stated that he sees no sense in Shatta Wale’s State of the Industry address, saying that Shatta was only addressing his fans and not the industry.
