An information from JoyNews reveals that Ghana is likely to announce its third suspected case of COVID-19 in the country.

According to Fred Smith the Head of Health at Joy news, a suspected carrier of the virus flew into the country some days ago. According to sources, he works with a mining company at Obuasi. The man is said to have returned to the Kotoka International Airport after a trip abroad this week and flew to Obuasi by helicopter.

According to Fred Smith, the suspected carrier looked unwell upon his arrival at the airport.

He, however, reported himself to a health facility in Kumasi where a series of tests were conducted and was tested positive.

The sufferer is reportedly under quarantine receiving treatment and undergoing medical observation.

Head of JoyNews’ Health Desk, Fred Smith says government is expected to make an official announcement on the development.
