Ghanaian entertainment critic and President of the Songwriters Association of Ghana, Emmanuel Barnes popularly known in Showbiz as Mr. Logic has slammed Ghanaian artists over their inability to market their songs.

During a discussion on the Showbiz Review section of DaybreakHitz, he registered his disappointment in the industry music players on how some of these artists expect to be given everything on a silver platter.

According to Mr. Logic Ghanaian artists lack, strategies in promoting their songs in other countries just like other artists do in Nigeria and other international countries.

“There’s something called playlisting and chart listing. The marketing guys in the music industry are supposed to help push the songs. But they have to be paid in order to do that,” he stated.

He blamed the Ghanaian music industry for the problems they face individually as artists. He referred to Shatta Wale’s previous comment that the industry lacks finances in the music industry; a problem constituting to the failure in promoting songs.

“We don’t take the marketing of music seriously. If you ask a Ghanaian artiste to pay 1,500 dollars to pitch a song on a playlist, he won’t do it. How many Ghanaian artists can afford to pay 3,000 dollars to pitch their playlist on a chart?” he quizzed.

This assertion comes from Mr. Logic after D-Black stated that he does not like to listen to songs by Ghanaian artists.
