Some Ghanaians have hijacked the comment section of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Facebook giving reasons why they should not give money to the government.

The government in a Press Statement disclosed that the President has instructed the finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta to start formal engagements with IMF to support an economic program put together by the government.

@samuel azumah: Please Ghana is coming kindly do a forensic audit and ask them to return all the stolen monies from the tax-free country. Akufo-Addo and his direct cousin have stolen all our money even including future monies.

@Felix Anamoah: IMF, pls don’t lecture us. We know our government mismanaged the economy so don’t try to sugarcoat it. This wouldn’t calm us down. Pls don’t give out the money u’re planning to give to Ghana. If not, we will demonstrate in Ghana for giving us the money. Let our president think properly without any help from you people.

@Ekow Amoasi: Hello, IMF, please ghana have all-natural resources even including the sea. Our leaders have mismanaged everything and shared it among their family and friends. Pls don’t give them any money

Let me remind you of this famous action of the president of Ghana against the will of most Ghanaians. Once upon a time, we had an Auditor General who was working to the delight of citizens and being thorns in the flesh of government. Guess what, Government determined his date of birth and retired him into pension. They then appointed one toothless auditor who is in bed with them.

On behalf of Ghanaian youth, we beg you IMF to re-engage Mr. Daniel Dormelevo as your Auditor for Ghana.

Thank you for your support to our Country.

@Genevieve Abebeh: Dear IMF,the president said we are sitting on money and there’s money in Ghana. Please ask them to revoke the elevy, restore the collecting of the tolls at all tollboths, then find a better way of expanding the tax net before giving any bailout. But the most important is the halting of the building of the privately own cathedral with our tax money

@Naa Adoley: IMF, respect yourself and don’t give this useless government any money.. Akuffo Addo will bath with it in the skies
