Ghanaians have labelled dancehall act, Shatta Wale as the local Champion for a long time. After clocking this huge collaboration with Beyoncé, Shatta Wale says people should keep calling him by that title.
According to Shatta Wale, the Local Champion title brought him this Collaboration because Beyonce was looking for the Champions in their Countries to do a song with and he happened to be the Local Champion here in Ghana and so automatically, he was picked.
When asked by Andy Dosty on Hitz FM whether now Ghanaians should stop referring to him as the Local Champion, he said,
“No, they should not stop calling me with that name. I have always loved The Local Champion title. If I wasn’t for that local champion tag, beyonce wouldn’t have featured me because they were looking for the Champions in the Country”
Shatta Wale again added that;
” Before I say anything, I want to say that, when one Ghanaian wins, it’s a win for all of us. We should set that example for other artistes. No one should insult anyone. The fans should understand that this is a celebration”
