Renowned Ghanaian musician, Bill Asamoah has stated that the government has not lived up to its promise of giving movie producers some funding.

The award-winning actor made this known in a recent interview he had on the popular Ghanaian radio station, Hitz FM.

Speaking with Ghanaian media personality, Andy Dosty, he said;

“If government should decide to assist in the direction of helping individuals develop apps for movies, I think it will be a good investment.

Imagine we having a movie streaming app that has about 2 million Ghanaian subscribers. Shooting a movie on Tetteh Quarshie is not easy. It requires huge money. Government promised to provide some funding for movie producers but it had been in the bush since.

There are filmmakers out there who are looking outside the box just to get support for the creation of movie streaming apps.

We can break the doors but let’s just keep knocking until the government gets back to us. This is Ghana for you where everything has to do with Party A or Party B.”
