Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, has stated that both Ghanaians and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ +) people in Ghana must hold fast to their respective beliefs to avoid any tension in the country.

According to him, since the LGBTQ + community in Ghana is growing, he does not support their operations.

Speaking at Citi TV’s Point of View on Saturday, February 27, 2021, IMANI Africa President said:

“As the President said, it is something that is yet to come and we must embrace it. I will do my part; I do not approve of it as a form of carnal knowledge, “he said.

“If there is a law that says that certain acts cannot be tolerated, so be it, “he added.

Franklin Cudjoe urged both Ghanaians and the LGBTQ + group to uphold their beliefs and not push them in people’s faces.

“Just believe your belief and don’t put it in people’s faces. People have opinions all the time, ”he said.

In the same vein, President Akufo-Addo reiterated on Saturday that his government will not legalize same-sex marriage.
