Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, affectionately known as Sarkodie has revealed Ghanaians should be grateful for what they have in the country even though we have a long way to go.

He made his assertions in reaction to claims made by Ghanaians that he deliberately recorded his “Happy Day” song featuring Kuami Eugene for the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty on the Daybreak Hitz show, Sarkodie stated that the lyrics in the song were mainly to appreciate the efforts of the government irrespective of the party in power.

According to King Sark, our leaders have done so well with the development of the country, thus Ghanaians need to appreciate them for that even though there are more issues for them to tackle.

He revealed that Ghana is far better than more African countries as he recalls how devastating it is for some citizens in some other African countries.

“The first time I traveled to some African countries, I appreciated my country for the first time because we are doing well. In as much as we still have a long way to go, honestly, if you compare us to some other countries I think we have done some good”, he said.

Sarkodie also stated that Ghanaians must be able to commend and promote the good works of the government, not necessarily always bashing them for the issues facing the country.
