Former MTN Hitmaker and Burniton Music signee, Okailey Verse, known widely as OV has dismissed the assertion that she’s merely riding on the waves of Stonwbwoy’s popularity.
“I went to HitMaker without Stonebwoy, I went alone and won. I can stand without Stonebwoy,’ she boldly stated when hard-hitting host, Delay interviewed her recently.
Okailey Verse has churned out great tunes since Stonwbwoy signed her but she’s yet to meet the high expectation people measured her with during the reality show.
Her former label mate, Kelvynboy is however doing relatively well with his songs and has become a household name since the release of his debut EP dubbed TIME.
Okailey Verse said she managed to catch Stonwbwoy’s attention after she did a cover of his ‘Tomorrow’ song before she went participated in the HitMaker show.
“I have been around doing music, it all started in 2017 after the demise of my brother. I was going to studios and recording with Producers. I released 3 songs before Hit Maker and featured Epixode in one of my songs”.
