Loudmouth actress Afia Schwarzenegger has claimed that she’s the one who invented the name for the Ashanti Region movie industry, Kumawood.
She explained that it all came up following a movie award she attended which didn’t live up to expectation and decided to come with an award scheme to honor actors and actresses in the Ashanti Region.

The internet sensation said the Ghana Movie Awards they went was wack so while in the car she suggested to her partner identified as Sammy about the award scheme.
Afia Schwarzenegger noted that Sammy asked her about how it will be called and she brought up Kumawood from the analogy of Nollywood and Hollywood.
She added that when they got to Kumasi, one Mr. Twumasi added Akoben and they concluded at Kumawood Akoben Awards hence she initiated the Kumawood.
The firebrand said that Kumawood was the biggest entertainment industry in Ghana but players should blame themselves for the stereotyping because they did not carry themselves well.

Afia revealed that it got to a point where they lowered the standards and that affected the industry by losing respect.
